Payment methods and checkout
PrismPoster handles all payments through Stripe. You can pay with major credit and debit cards, and international cards are supported. Your billing name is captured at checkout — PrismPoster does not collect a real or legal name at signup (signup takes only your @username, email, and password), so the name you enter at Stripe checkout is the one tied to your subscription and receipts. Whether you are subscribing to a plan or buying a one-time credit pack, the same Stripe checkout handles it securely.
What cards can I use?
All major credit and debit cards are accepted through Stripe, and international cards work. Card details are entered and stored with Stripe, not held by PrismPoster directly. The same method on file is used for plan renewals and for any refunds, which return to your original card.
Why is a billing name asked at checkout?
Because PrismPoster does not collect a legal name when you sign up. Signup collects only your public @username, email, and password — that is deliberate data minimization. The billing name you provide at Stripe checkout appears on your subscription and receipts and satisfies payment requirements. Your @username stays your public handle; the billing name is for billing only.
How do I update my payment method?
Go to Settings → Plan & Billing to manage your subscription and payment details, which are handled through Stripe. Updating your card there keeps renewals from failing. If a charge does not go through, see payment or billing problems.
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Payments run through Stripe, a dedicated payment processor, so your card data is handled on their infrastructure rather than stored by PrismPoster. Data across PrismPoster is encrypted in transit and at rest. For more on how data is handled, see /security and /privacy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What payment methods does PrismPoster accept?
All major credit and debit cards through Stripe, with international cards supported. The same method is used for subscriptions, credit packs, and refunds.
Why do I have to enter a name at checkout when I didn't at signup?
Signup only collects your @username, email, and password by design. A billing name is captured at Stripe checkout because payment requires it; it appears on your receipts but stays separate from your public handle.
My payment was declined — what now?
Check the card details and that it supports international charges, then try again. If it keeps failing, see payment or billing problems or contact support@prismposter.com.
