How credits work in PrismPoster
PrismPoster runs on one shared credit pool. Every studio draws from the same balance, so credits you have can go toward an image, a video, a song, or an edit without separate buckets to manage. Your current balance shows in the sidebar wherever you are in the app. A dedicated Credits page shows your full history. Each generation spends credits when it runs, and paid plans refresh your monthly allotment on each billing cycle. When you sign up you get free trial credits to try the studios before paying.
Where do I see my credit balance?
Your balance is always in the sidebar. It updates as you generate, so you can watch it move down when a video renders or an image finishes. There is no separate balance per studio — the number in the sidebar is the same pool the Image Studio, Video Studio, Music Studio, and Magic Edit all draw from.
Where is my credit history?
Open the Credits page to see a running history of what you spent and when. This is the place to check after a busy session if you want to understand where credits went. If a generation failed, the history is the quickest way to confirm whether it was charged.
How do generations spend credits?
Credits are deducted when a generation runs. The amount depends on what you make. Text drafts cost the least. Images cost a moderate amount. Video costs the most and scales with resolution and length. Edits in Magic Edit vary by the operation. For the qualitative breakdown, see credit costs by type; for the exact, current numbers, that article and /pricing show the live table.
Note that produced media consumes real credits as soon as it is generated, even on the Free plan. There is no separate sandbox — what you make is real output, and it is yours to export.
Do credits reset every month?
Yes. Paid plans include a monthly credit allotment that refreshes on each billing cycle. The exact monthly amount per plan is on /pricing. If you need more than your monthly allotment, you can top up with one-time credit packs, which add to your balance without changing your plan.
What happens to credits if I cancel?
After you cancel, your access continues to the end of the billing period you already paid for. Once the period ends, your generated content and saved assets remain in your account as read-only and stay exportable from the Library. See change or cancel your plan for the full picture.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do different studios use different credits?
No. There is one shared credit pool. The Image Studio, Video Studio, Music Studio, Storyboard Studio, and Magic Edit all spend from the same balance shown in the sidebar.
Are failed generations charged?
Check the Credits page history to confirm. If you see an unexpected deduction for a generation that did not complete, contact support@prismposter.com and include the time it happened.
Can I buy more credits without upgrading my plan?
Yes. One-time credit packs top up your balance and do not change your plan. Paid plans get a discount on packs.
