AI commercial generator: how to make a 30-second product spot in one take

The PrismPoster teamSeptember 26, 20266 min read

An AI commercial generator turns a written brief, and usually a few product photos, into a short video ad. The useful question is not whether it can make "an ad" but how much of one it can make in a single render. Most generators still produce a few seconds per render, so a 30-second spot has to be assembled from many separate shots that each drift a little in colour, lighting and product detail. PrismPoster's Premium video engine renders one continuous take of up to 30 seconds, which is the length of a classic broadcast spot, with sound rendered alongside the picture. This guide covers how to plan that take, how to keep the product accurate, what it costs, and what an AI commercial still cannot do for you.

What is an AI commercial generator?

An AI commercial generator is a video model you direct with a brief: you describe the shots, attach reference images of the product, pick a frame shape, and it renders the footage and sound. It replaces the shoot, not the thinking: the offer, the hook and the edit are still yours.

Most tools marketed as "AI ad makers" fall into two groups. Template tools put your photos and text into pre-built motion layouts. Generative tools render new footage from a description. PrismPoster is the second kind: the Video studio renders footage, the timeline editor assembles and captions it, and the Music studio can write a bespoke track for it.

Can AI make a full 30-second commercial in one render?

On the Premium engine, yes. A single render is one continuous take of any whole second from 4 to 30 seconds. The Standard engine, which is on every plan, renders 4, 6, 8, 10-second shots, so a longer spot there is cut from several shots on the timeline.

One take matters for ads more than for most formats. Your product has to look like the same product in every second. When a spot is stitched from separate generations, each shot re-interprets the label, the bottle shape or the colour of the packaging. Inside one take the engine carries the same object through the whole move, so the product in second 25 is the product from second 2.

How do you script an AI commercial?

Write it as timed beats: a time range and one line of action per beat. The Premium engine reads the beats as directions inside one continuous take, not as separate clips. A 30-second product spot might look like this:

0-4s: close-up, a dewy glass bottle on wet slate, morning light, the label facing camera
4-10s: the camera pulls back and arcs left, revealing a kitchen counter with fresh citrus
10-18s: a hand lifts the bottle and pours into a glass, slow motion, ice cracking
18-25s: the camera rises over the counter as the glass fills, light through the window
25-30s: the bottle returns to the centre of frame, logo sharp, soft focus behind

Three rules keep an ad script usable:

  1. One action per beat. "Pours and smiles and turns to the window" gives the engine three competing instructions for five seconds.
  2. Describe the camera, not the edit. Inside one take there are no cuts, so write "the camera pulls back", not "cut to a wide shot".
  3. End on the product. The last beat is where the logo, the pack shot or the call to action lives, and it is the frame people pause on.

The shot script builder on the AI video generator page times your beats, checks the total against the 30-second limit and prices the take before you open the studio.

How do you keep the product accurate?

Attach it. A Premium render takes up to 30 reference images, 10 reference clips and 10 reference tracks. For a product spot, three or four clean photos from different angles do more than any adjective: front, back, the label close up, and the product in use. You can also set a start frame and an end frame, which is the most reliable way to guarantee the final pack shot. The full method is in our guide to reference to video AI.

Check small type every time. Generated footage still bends lettering on labels and packaging. If the brand name has to be legible, plan a final beat that holds on the product, and put the name and the offer on as a title in the timeline editor, where text is set as real type rather than rendered pixels.

Which frame shape should a commercial use?

Pick the frame for where the ad runs, before you render; reframing afterwards crops the product. Premium renders 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 21:9, 3:4.

Where it runs Frame Why
Reels, Shorts, TikTok, Stories ads 9:16 Fills a phone screen held upright
YouTube pre-roll, websites, TV 16:9 The native shape of every horizontal player
Feed placements 1:1 or 3:4 Takes more of the feed than a horizontal video
Cinema-style brand film 21:9 The wide frame reads as a film, not an ad

What does an AI commercial cost?

Premium bills per second at the quality you choose, with no base fee: 18 credits a second at 480p, 40 at 720p, 50 at 1080p and 70 at 4K. A 15-second take at 720p is 600 credits and a full 30-second take at 720p is 1200. The price is on the render button before you spend anything.

The cheaper way to work is to draft short at 480p, get the beats right, and only then render the full length at 720p or 1080p. Premium is included on every paid plan, from €19 a month; without a plan, every account gets one Premium draft of 5 seconds at 480p for 90 credits.

What can't an AI commercial do?

  • It cannot show a real person without consent. PrismPoster only puts a real, identifiable person on screen through the consented likeness setup. Do not upload photos of a celebrity or a customer and prompt for them.
  • It cannot make product claims true. If the ad says "lasts 48 hours", that claim needs the same substantiation as in a filmed ad.
  • It should be labelled where the platform asks. Several ad platforms and the EU AI Act expect disclosure of realistic synthetic footage; see our creator's guide to AI content labelling.
  • It will not replace testing. Render two or three hooks for the first three seconds and let the numbers pick.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best AI commercial generator for a 30-second ad?

Look for three things: a single render long enough for the whole spot, reference images so the product stays accurate, and sound rendered with the picture. PrismPoster's Premium engine renders one continuous take of up to 30 seconds with sound and up to 50 references.

Can I make a product video from product photos?

Yes. Attach the photos as reference images, or set one as the start frame, and describe how the camera moves around the product. Our guide to AI video from product photos walks through it.

Does the AI commercial include music and sound?

Sound is rendered with the picture on both engines. On Premium you can attach reference tracks to steer it, and on the timeline you can replace it with a track from the Music studio.

How much does a 30-second AI commercial cost on PrismPoster?

At 720p, 1200 credits; at 480p, 540. Premium is included on paid plans, which start at €19 a month.

Can I use an AI commercial for paid ads?

Yes, you can use what you render commercially on a paid plan. You are still responsible for the claims in the ad and for any disclosure the ad platform requires.
