Cookie consent and how to change your privacy choices
PrismPoster shows a GDPR cookie consent banner the first time you visit, and your decision is saved as a consent record. You choose which cookie categories to allow, and you can change your mind at any time from the privacy choices page at /privacy/choices. No cookie or third-party tool in the non-essential categories runs until you opt in. Separately from cookies, we count page views and product usage on our own servers without storing anything on your device, using a code derived fresh each day so it cannot be linked across days; that is described in the Cookie Policy, respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, and you can switch it off entirely in your privacy settings. There are four categories — essential, functional, analytics, and marketing — and only essential cookies are always on, because the site can't work without them. One thing to note: if you arrive through a partner referral link, a strictly necessary first-party cookie records which partner referred you so they can be credited if you subscribe. It is set because you clicked that link, it is never used for advertising, and it is never shared with anyone.
What are the four consent categories?
- Essential — always on. These keep you signed in, secure your session, and make core features work. They can't be switched off because the app depends on them.
- Functional — optional personalization, like remembering your email at sign-in, so the experience feels consistent across visits.
- Analytics — help us understand how features are used so we can improve them.
- Marketing — nothing currently loads in this category. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. (Partner referral attribution is handled by a strictly necessary first-party cookie instead — see the partner program.)
You can accept or reject the non-essential categories independently. Your selections are stored so we honor them on future visits.
How do I change my cookie choices?
Go to /privacy/choices at any time. You can turn categories on or off there, and the change takes effect immediately. You don't need to clear the banner or wait for it to reappear — the choices page is the control panel for your consent.
What happens after I make a choice?
Your decision is stored in your browser and recorded as a consent record — our log that you made a specific choice at a specific time. That record is tied to your account when you're signed in, or to an anonymous session otherwise, and it's what lets us prove we respected your preference as part of how we handle your data under the GDPR. To see the full picture of how data is collected and used, read /privacy.
Where do cookies fit with the rest of my privacy?
Cookies are only one piece. Your generations stay private by default, the third parties that process data on our behalf are listed on our sub-processors page, and you can exercise your full data rights at any time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reject analytics and marketing cookies and still use PrismPoster?
Yes. Only essential cookies are required for the app to function. You can reject functional, analytics, and marketing cookies and continue to use every studio normally.
How do I change my cookie consent after I've already chosen?
Visit /privacy/choices. You can update any non-essential category there at any time, and the change applies right away.
Where is my consent decision stored?
Your choice is stored in your browser and logged as a consent record — tied to your account when you're signed in, or to an anonymous session otherwise. That lets us apply the same preferences on future visits and demonstrate that we honored them.
